TestPin — Terms of Use
Last updated: 28 September 2026
TestPin is an iPhone tool for developers and QA testers. It overrides the network-based location result that iOS receives with a test coordinate you choose, so you can test how location-dependent apps behave. By using TestPin you agree to these terms.
1. Permitted use
- Use TestPin only on devices you own or are explicitly authorized to test.
- Use it only for software development, testing, research and QA.
- Do not use it to misrepresent your location to any person, service or organization, to circumvent geographic restrictions, or to interfere with services that rely on accurate location (for example attendance, delivery, safety or anti-fraud systems).
- You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and with the terms of any app or service you test.
2. How it works and its limits
- TestPin runs a local VPN on your device and installs a root certificate that you must trust manually. It only handles connections to Apple's network location service; all other traffic is left untouched.
- It does not modify GPS hardware. Outdoors with a good GPS signal, iOS may prefer GPS and ignore the test coordinate.
- Test coordinates expire according to the auto-restore setting you choose, or when you tap "Clear". After that, the next location lookup returns your real position.
- Apple may change iOS at any time in ways that stop TestPin from working. We do not guarantee that it works on every device or iOS version.
3. Subscriptions and ads
- The free version shows ads. TestPin PRO removes ads and interstitials. Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID, renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and are managed in Settings › Apple ID › Subscriptions.
- Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
4. No warranty; limitation of liability
TestPin is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use, including consequences of testing with an incorrect location.
5. Changes
We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
