TestPin — Privacy Policy

TestPin is an iPhone tool for developers and QA testers. Using an on-device VPN, it overrides the network-based location result that iOS receives with a test coordinate you choose. This policy explains what the app touches. In short: the traffic TestPin handles, your test coordinates, saved places and settings stay on your iPhone. TestPin shows ads, which involves third parties — details below.

What stays on your device

• Network traffic. TestPin's VPN runs entirely on your iPhone. Only connections to Apple's network location service are handled; everything else passes through untouched. TestPin has no proxy server, and your traffic is never sent to us.
• Location. TestPin does not read your real location and does not use Location Services itself. It only alters the location response on its way to iOS; the test coordinate you enter and the real response never leave the device.
• Certificate. The certificate TestPin uses for those connections is generated on your iPhone. Its private key never leaves the device.
• Test coordinates, saved places, settings, and logs. The coordinates you enter, places you save (PRO), the auto-restore setting, and the diagnostic log shown in the app are stored only in the app's local storage. There are no accounts and no sign-in.

What TestPin downloads

The app downloads two small configuration files (app version policy and ad settings) from testpin.pages.dev, hosted on Cloudflare. These are plain downloads: nothing about you, your location or your traffic is uploaded. As with any website, the host may keep standard technical logs such as IP address and request time.

Saving a place (PRO). When you save a test coordinate as a place, the app sends that coordinate once to Apple's geocoding service to look up its country and place name, so it can show a flag and suggest a name. This is the coordinate you typed, never your real location; Apple handles the request under its own privacy policy. The result is stored only on your iPhone.

Map links. If you paste a shortened map link (for example maps.app.goo.gl), the app asks that link's provider once where it points, and, when the target holds only a place name and address, asks Apple's geocoding service for its coordinate. Only the link or address you pasted is sent, never your location.

Map preview. When a coordinate is entered, the app shows a small map of it. The map tiles come from Apple Maps, so the area around the coordinate you typed is requested from Apple. The app never asks for Location Services and never reads where you actually are.

Advertising

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK), with Meta Audience Network as an additional ad source through AdMob. To deliver and measure ads, these providers receive standard technical information such as a device advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), IP address, device type, and whether an ad was seen or tapped.

• No traffic, test coordinates, saved places, or settings are ever shared with any advertising party. The ad components have no access to them.
• After you first use the app, iOS asks whether to allow tracking (App Tracking Transparency). If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalised, and every feature works the same.
• In regions that require it (such as the EEA and UK), Google's consent message is shown before any ad is requested, and you can change your choice later from the app.

These providers handle data under their own policies: Google and Meta. You can change tracking at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.

Subscriptions

TestPin PRO removes ads and unlocks saved places. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; TestPin never receives your name, Apple Account, or payment details. The app only checks with Apple whether a subscription is active. Manage or cancel it in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.

What TestPin does not do

• No accounts and no sign-in.
• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting of our own.
• No uploading, selling, or sharing of the traffic it processes.
• No third-party code other than the advertising SDKs listed above.

Your control

You can stop TestPin at any time by disabling the service in the app or turning the VPN off in Settings › VPN. Tapping "Clear" in the app, or the auto-restore timer expiring, returns iOS to your real location on its next lookup. Settings › Data & privacy › Delete all local data inside the app erases your test coordinates, saved places, settings and logs. Deleting TestPin removes the app and all data it stored, including the certificate it generated. If you installed that certificate as a profile, remove it in Settings › General › VPN & Device Management.

Children

TestPin is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes what TestPin accesses or which third parties are involved, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.

留在你手機裡的資料

• 網路流量——TestPin 的 VPN 完全在你的 iPhone 上執行，只處理連到 Apple 網路定位服務的連線， 其餘連線原樣通過。TestPin 沒有代理伺服器，你的流量絕不會傳給我們。
• 位置——TestPin 不讀取你的真實位置，本身也不使用定位服務；它只在定位回應送回 iOS 的途中改寫內容。 你輸入的測試座標與真實回應都不會離開裝置。
• 憑證——TestPin 處理這些連線時使用的憑證在你的 iPhone 上產生，私鑰絕不離開裝置。

TestPin 會下載什麼

App 只會從 testpin.pages.dev（由 Cloudflare 託管）下載兩個小型設定檔（App 版本政策與廣告設定）。 這些都是單純的下載，不會上傳任何關於你、你的位置或你流量的資訊。 和任何網站一樣，託管方可能保留標準的技術紀錄，例如 IP 位址與請求時間。

收藏地點（PRO）——把測試座標存成常用地點時，App 會把該座標送到 Apple 的地理編碼服務查詢一次國家與地名， 用來顯示國旗並建議名稱。送出的是你輸入的測試座標，不是你的真實位置；Apple 依其 隱私權政策處理這項請求。查詢結果只存在你的 iPhone。

地圖連結——若你貼上縮短的地圖連結（例如 maps.app.goo.gl），App 會向該連結的服務商問一次它指向哪裡； 目標只有店名與地址、沒有座標時，再向 Apple 地理編碼服務查詢座標。送出的只有你貼上的連結或地址，不是你的位置。

地圖預覽——輸入座標後，App 會顯示該座標的小地圖。圖資來自 Apple 地圖，因此會向 Apple 請求你輸入座標周邊的地圖； App 不會要求定位服務權限，也不會讀取你實際所在的位置。

廣告

免費版會顯示 Google AdMob（Google Mobile Ads SDK）提供的廣告，並透過 AdMob 加入 Meta Audience Network 作為額外的廣告來源。為了投放與計算成效，這些廣告商會取得標準的技術資訊， 例如裝置廣告識別碼（僅在你允許追蹤時）、IP 位址、裝置類型，以及廣告是否被瀏覽或點擊。

• 任何流量、測試座標、收藏地點或設定都不會分享給任何廣告方。廣告元件無法存取這些資料。
• 你第一次使用 App 後，iOS 會詢問是否允許追蹤（App 追蹤透明度）。若你拒絕，仍會顯示廣告但不會個人化， 所有功能都相同。
• 在法規要求的地區（例如歐洲經濟區與英國），請求任何廣告前會先顯示 Google 的同意訊息，之後也能在 App 內更改選擇。

這些廣告商依其自身政策處理資料：Google、 Meta。你可以隨時在 「設定 › 隱私權與安全性 › 追蹤」更改追蹤權限。

訂閱

TestPin PRO 可移除廣告並解鎖收藏地點。購買完全由 Apple 透過 App Store 處理，TestPin 不會取得你的姓名、 Apple 帳號或付款資訊，App 只會向 Apple 確認訂閱是否有效。你可以在 「設定 › [你的名字] › 訂閱項目」管理或取消訂閱。

TestPin 不會做的事

• 沒有使用者帳號，不需登入。
• 沒有自己的分析、遙測或當機回報。
• 不上傳、販售或分享它處理的流量。
• 除上述廣告 SDK 外，未整合任何第三方程式碼。

你的控制權

你可以隨時在 App 內停用服務，或到「設定 › VPN」關閉 VPN 來停止 TestPin。在 App 內按「清除」或自動恢復時間到期後， iOS 下次定位就會回到真實位置。App 內的「設定 › 資料與隱私 › 刪除所有本地資料」會清除測試座標、收藏地點、設定與紀錄。 刪除 TestPin 會移除 App 與它儲存的所有資料，包括它產生的憑證。若你曾把該憑證安裝為描述檔，請到 「設定 › 一般 › VPN 與裝置管理」移除。

兒童

TestPin 並非以 13 歲以下兒童為對象，且不向任何人蒐集個人資訊。

政策變更

若未來版本改變了 TestPin 的存取範圍或涉及的第三方，本頁會在該版本發布前更新，上方日期也會隨之變動。
